Artist Collaborations

Snowscape

Snowscape is a little painting inspired by the sporadic winter weather in Rochester, NY. Snow often dances in unexpected flurries, covering the trees in a thick, quiet blanket.

Sketches

Sketches is a piano solo based on the art medium pencil sketching and set to a timelapse of an original sketch by Liz Demeter. The sketch depicts a young girl looking out a car window while driving through Paris on a family vacation. The constant motion in the left hand depicts the steady movement of driving and the use of extended harmonies gives a “French” sound.

Watercolors

Watercolors is another piano solo based on the art medium watercolor painting and set to a timelapse of an original painting by Amena Nowell. The Impressionistic style of the music influenced the watery, blurred colors depicting a vibrant bouquet of flowers.

Pastels

Pastels is a third piano solo based on the art medium pastels and set to a timelapse of an original art piece by Lydia Becker (pictured on right). The lines and phrases in Pastels start out slightly detached, but blend and run smoothly by the end. The art piece depicts a sunset: clear distinction between colors at the beginning, but a seamless blend between them all as the sun sets.

Exploration

Exploration is a short orchestral piece set to a watercolor timelapse of a cabin in the forest. Mountains and forests are an endless well of beauty and color and there’s something a little magical about a cabin in the woods.
